We’re All Nomadic Gamers

In yesterday’s cliffhanger, I left off with the loud, raucous TeamSpeak fight that had been forcibly moved to the guildleader’s office, aka A Private Channel.

We were at an impasse: College puke’s not budging — he won’t be killing savannah lions or those thorn ewoks for any man (or woman). And I’m not budging — he’s an idgit and has seriously pissed me off. (Ok, originally it was about an unwillingness of some to help those that were struggling with the solo. I then moved to “he’s an idgit, die in a fire” and was standing firm.)

The guildleader was losing patience now, he had his own soloing to do after all, so he asked the puke if he could soften his stance any. I’ll spare you puke’s long-winded ramble, but basically he agreed that all guildmembers, once they reached level 60, should make assisting the others their top priority.

Wow. One week into World of Warcraft, and come hell or high water, the other members will get their assistance some day! In the meantime, all of us should continue to send all harvests and crafting supplies up the chain to the high levels because they have needs, kthx.

Get Your Updates! Who Needs One?

Recall yesterday’s post about the creeps: the omnipresent Lolys and the (in his own mind) omnipotent Blizzard employee.

Update on “oh how I wish we were real life friends” Nebu: Late yesterday, Blizzard reps post the results of the Monday meetings regarding Nebu’s continuing antics. And when I use a plural for meetings, I mean just that. I just know that shit took more than one meeting. Quoting, because Warcraft message boards have a … how to say? … proclivity to lose forum posts:

Over the weekend, a thread was posted on the Tichondrius realm forum warning Horde players of certain guilds and characters they should look out for while adventuring. This thread contained information on a Blizzard employee’s guild, and conjecture was made on which character that employee played. This thread was deleted, and all subsequent threads created on this topic were closed. Several other threads containing references to this guild were also deleted, and a few players were wrongly suspended or banned from the forums for participating in these threads. We would like to correct this mistake. If you feel you were wrongly banned or suspended from the forums, please email your character name and the name of the realm you play on to wowreportedpost@blizzard.com. Furthermore, please note that we are taking measures to ensure this does not happen again.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused and thank you for your understanding and patience.

In addition, as part of our normal name-review process, the aforementioned guild’s name was reviewed last week and was found to be in violation of World of Warcraft’s naming policy. The name violates the rule dealing with real-world references, and is subject to the same procedure as other guilds. Therefore, the guild will be disbanded and reimbursed for their tabard, and will have to re-form using a different name. Please note that these are two separate issues that have the unfortunate coincidence of requiring attention at the same time.

I Won’t Say I Told You So, But …

I told you so. Again, today, with the bullshit login problems. Ordinn (Blizz dude) posts:

We understand people are experiencing login issues. Please post all relevant information in this thread.

Update – 6:20 PM PST: They are working on the issue right now. From what I understand it isn’t nearly as bad as yesterday’s issue. In fact, many people are logging in without problems, so keep trying to login.

Is he high? Relevant info? Like, that we can’t login? And, we can’t post because we can’t login? Should we post that? Like, someday when we can login?

My server just crashed while I was … let’s say, SKULKING … around where I shouldn’t have been. So I am no doubt dead. But!! This was not the worst thing that has happened to me in my virtual world today. Alas, the other crap was entirely my fault.

But that will be fodder for another time. For now, Warcrack logins are borked YET AGAIN.

Ho. Ho. Ho.

**UPDATE** Weee, I am dead. Ain’t no big deal. In the old days, we used to lose at least 5 levels when we died and had to fight our way back to our bodies naked, and then we died 82 more times and we were really mad by then, and yet we still played every day, all day. Because … hell, I don’t know why. I have a body to recover, and then I’ll have to pay 12 gold to repair my stuff and that explains why I won’t have a mount until I’m level 59, even though every Tom, Dick and Pally has a free mount at level 40.
