The Chronicles of Spellborn, another MMOG about battling evil in a persistent pretend world, recently sent out invites for closed beta. I don’t know anything other than what I read there and in the FAQ … oh yeah, and what I read over at VirginWorlds … but I also found a Betawatcher contest you can enter for a beta key. Answer some questions about TCoS, maybe score a key. Contest ends January 25th. You’re welcome. (Maybe. If it sucks, I’m sure you won’t be thanking me, but we’ll cross that bridge later.)

Engage In-Game Advertising
Engage In-Game Advertising “A joint survey conducted by Nielsen and DoubleFusion shows a very favorable attitude toward in-game ads…” huh? I don’t know anybody who wants in-game advertising but how about this evil idea … you’re waiting in the Warcraft queue, because almost all the servers have queues nowadays, and instead of staring at the two tall statues with the fire blowing all around, you’re staring at advertisements for soft drinks, pizza and cigarettes. Don’t think that’s so far-fetched — a captive audience, a harmless ad, it’s all downhill from there.
Fun with AE fear
Sometimes raids just don’t go your way. Be it stealth afk’s, the stars misaligned, stupidity, or Blizzard (probably the biggest reason), you wind up wiping. I have noticed that regardless of how bad things are some people just refuse to die. They will do anything in their power to make sure they kill whoever just got divine intervention and to delay your attempted CR. Thankfully, I have the ability in certain encounters to ensure said wipe happens in a timely manner.
