Dear World of Warcraft: Please update the PVP rankings some time soon. It’s been over a week and I’m tired of seeing my server’s Field Marshal douchebag at the top of the ladder every day. F him and his honor kill-middle camping buddies. Also, please cancel the gamecard for the new paladin in my guild. Claim it’s a glitch in the billing software that can’t be fixed for a few weeks or some other nonsense. If this isn’t possible, I’ll be forced to work my (patent pending) behind-the-scenes, puppet master magic to get that raid channel/strat spammer booted for guild malfeasance. I could be more direct in my approach, but I don’t like to get my hands dirty. I’m sure you can see why an unfortunate billing accident would be more convenient. Thanks. Sincerely, Foton.

E3 Loses an E
If the ESA was really serious about downsizing and revamping the annual circus that is E3, they could just have the attendees log onto their World of Warcraft accounts and run around in Silverpine Forest or The Barrens. Toss in a few night elves dancing in their virtual underwear, a few macro’d keynote speeches and a /random casino or two and you’ve got yourself a party.
Use American Keyboards Dammit!
In another example of great minds thinking alike, emailer Chuck of the Warcraft-Server-That-Is-Not-Mine (I checked) found this new farmer tactic:
On the same night, I had screenshot the same farmer/team on my own server — not Chuck’s server (I checked):
I’m not really sure why non-standard characters are allowed on U.S. servers in the first place. It’s not like we’re all that fanatic about typing über over uber.
(If only my guild could see me now, using non-standard characters as if it was second nature. Their hope in ignorant, isolationist Americans would be restored.)
If some dude uses non-standard characters in his player name, I just don’t bother talking to him or ihr. Mostly because it would involve research to establish a friendship, but also it’s the principle of the matter.
