EverQuest II Hunts Newbies
The latest massively multiplayer game is aiming to provide a softer, gentler experience for those intimidated by the original EverQuest. For the most part, it succeeds. (Other than my mother, who wasn’t intimidated so much as declared it stupid the one time she watched me play during a POP-IN VISIT a few years back. Anyhow, first EQ2 review I’ve seen that didn’t contain cursing in the title, so congrats on that, SOE.

While I’m still waiting on WoW server #40-something to wake up, and, I’m idly completing some paperwork for My Real Job, I made my weekly family phonecalls. Christmas isn’t far away … got to keep in their good graces so I can avoid the annual “airing of family grievances” when I visit.
As I was talking to one of my brother’s kids — the one that shares his uncle’s odd penchant for killing pretend monsters — I asked what he thought about EverQuest 2. Got to keep in touch with the 14 year olds’ rap, donchaknow.
