It’s Always Something

Warcrap’s login server has been down for … going on two hours now. Which makes me wonder, how come the realm status page indicates high player populations when, without a functional login server, the populations should start to dwindle after a few hours.

I would think it was just me, but thanks to a solitary Blizzard post two hours ago and a TeamSpeak server full of people asking, “hey, is WoW down?”, I know it’s not just me.

One of the guildmates got through to a character select screen … not HIS characters, but someone else’s. Oh, the possibilities for gaming pranks are limitless with that database error.

Of course, we all start spamming the login server, hoping to get some other dope’s characters. I got some guy’s characters from Argent Dawn, one of the RP servers. Ain’t that the luck? Trying again, hoping to get some level 60 from a PVP server. And not some winky dink priest either, gimme a rogue or a shaman.

Since WoW’s forum logins are apparently handled by the game login server, (why? why??), players can’t post about the crap that’s happening.

**UPDATE** Login servers back to normal. DAMN! I had such high hopes for prankery.

The Sun !!! It Burns !!!

I’ve been burning through a lot of Warcraft content lately, which means I haven’t spent much time outside, other than the amount of time I spend walking from my car into my office building.

Foton Scrooge: You there! Boy! What day is it?

Unwashed British lad delivering papers: Why it’s December 14, gov’nr.

Foton Scrooge: Then I haven’t missed Christmas! (yet.)

Oh ya, and I had to get gas yesterday morning, so I was outside briefly for that, too. I also had to take a Warcraft boat to go visit the winky dink NPC trainer and the virtual sun was in my view, so I think that should count.

Anyhow … I’ve enjoyed my Warcraft time, for the most part. I’ve run into a few annoying bugs, of course, and from what I read, sending a bug report on same wouldn’t do jack or squat. It’s not as if I would send a bug report anyways; I’m not getting a paycheck to report this shit after all.

Loot And Scoot

I’m just gonna go out on a limb and say that I really hate the “loot and scooters” — the “I got mine, good luck with all of yours” people.

Tonight, I was messing around with one of the … how shall I say … LESSER classes. Fuck, I was tired of shredding mobs like they were audit workpapers at the once and former Arthur Andersen, so I made a new character that was one of the tired, the poor and/or the teeming masses.

How bad could it be?

(Real bad.)

So I joined this quest group that needed BossMob_04, that was FAR above my capacity. Hey, I warned them that I was a noob, that I had no business fighting this boss mob, that I was like wet paper attacking the proverbial scissors.
