Spoiled Brats

A few nights ago, our alt army was waiting at the appointed quest area for the last arrival, one of the Alt Warriors.

We’ve been more than patient with Alt Warrior, but he pulls this crap almost every night: check the Auction House 43 times for any level 30-ish uber, check a few more times for level 40-ish uber (to prepare for next week), then beg the guild enchanter to log on and enchant his new shit.

He’s got to be almost out of gold on his main; he completely changes over his warrior gear that often. While gold is much easier to come by at level 60, our alts aren’t producing much revenue — they aren’t even self-sufficient yet — and the mains are too busy babysitting to get out in the field and produce.

He finally arrives in Stranglethorn Vale, takes one look at the designated rogue babysitter, and balks. He wants the 60 hunter to cover quests until the alts have mounts because of the group run buff.

(As if he’ll be able to afford a mount for that spoiled brat of a warrior.)

Bummer

I really hate when a game steals items from players. Y’know, when shit just poofs into thin air, never to be seen again. I’m guessing it’s a matter of corrupt databases or loads or client/server sync issues, whatever the hell the problem is, it’s inexcusable.

Isn’t that the minimum of service my monthly fee goes toward: keeping track of shit I have, shit I’ve done and shit I’m supposed to do?

I understand that catastrophes will occur, but I think that’s where customer service is supposed to kick in. Customer service isn’t shrugging the shoulders and saying, “bummer”; customer service is putting things right.

Few examples of nerfarious system thievery in Warcraft lately … sadly, I cannot cite ALL the examples I’ve seen recently, because the forum search function is yet another one of those NOI things in WoW and because the Blizzard handmaidens spend more time commenting on fashion and how this game r0x0rz than flagging important issues.

Disappearing equipped items
– Log out for the night, log back in the next day and an equipped item has poofed into thin air. (No, not sold to a vendor accidentally.) I normally would view such reports with a great deal of skepticism, but I’ve had this happen to me and to another dude in my guild. Fortunately, I was level 20 at the time, so hey, no big deal in the grand scheme of things. I, too, was shit out of luck when I petitioned.

I’m glad I didn’t use up one of my “limited number” of property recoveries for a level 20 piece of crap weapon. (Don’t be naive. Whether an item is lost due to the game’s fault or your own, it’s marked the same … a freebie restore.)

Spanning the World of Warcraft …

Hannah

This is Hannah. She lives in Lakeshire in the Redridge Mountains. Not to be insensitive, but damn, that is one ugly kid.

Orc patrols

Some noob kept asking in the public channel where to find a Lakeshire NPC. Even though he was told, in great detail, several times, where to find said NPC, searching around inside the Inn proved too much for him.

Just delete

Some Westfall noob asked how to summon his warlock voidwalker, and one of my guildmates (Mate01) kindly responded that he needed a soul shard. A level 20 warlock that didn’t know where to get a soul shard. Ya. Scary.

Priests

Foton explains it all. My priest alt took on a few too many gnolls and hit the dirt right in front of a small group of onlookers. The shame of it!!

Shemales

When creating the army of alts, one guildmate decided to try out the other gender and is having a little too much fun with that.

Bypassing content

I was bypassing content in the Zul’FuckedUp instance. Didn’t do a very good job of it, though, as evidenced by the dozens of newly-spawned trolls in my way.

Remember kids, don’t bypass content like Foton does. And if you must, do a better job of it.
