BlizzCon at The OC

(no permalink or webpage set up for this yet — surprise!) From the World of Warcraft mainpage, news of the first BlizzCon to be held October 28 and 29, 2005 in the OC, California. Most places don’t announce events until they have the location pinned down a little further than the county, but possibly they want to make sure you keep your calendar open for those days.

Anyways, assuming you keep that calendar open, it’s a celebration of all things Blizzard: Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, and includes Q & A panels. Wee.

Quoting:

WHAT: BlizzCon will be an ideal event for gamers from around the world to meet each other, participate in live Q&A’s with Blizzard developers, and share their passion for their favorite Blizzard games.

WHO: Gamers who enjoy playing any of the games developed by Blizzard Entertainment.

WHERE: Orange County, California. Exact location to be announced at a later date.

WHEN: Friday and Saturday, October 28 and 29, 2005. The event begins at 8 a.m. PDT on both days.

Further details, including ticket prices, will follow on the Blizzard main page.

In the July 2005 National Geographic, the main feature covers stem cell research. (link to online excerpt) On page 4 of the print edition (so you’ll have to go to the library or the doctor) is a poignant photograph of 11-year-old David Dalmat, who is banished to a sterile “bubble” until his bone marrow regrows. In his hands, a Playstation 2 controller.
