The designers work closly with the mod designers there, and many mod designers are more than happy to give Blizzard their Code.
a few people of the CT team have already been hired by Blizzard or other MMO firms, the kind of recognition those (successfull) mod teams have is rather high, in the industry

Scrolling Combat Text is a great mod, much more useful than I thought it would be when I first installed it — I’m not surprised that WoW is stealing copying it.

And they copy ANOTHER addon…..wonder if they will ever give recognition to the people who actually made this addon popular.
