Intermediate Public Relations 502

Maybe, Warcraft info like this (Tigole, Blizz dude and ex-EQ hag on FoH forums) should be posted somewhere here, here, or even here first, before the talk turns to this or this.

Just in case the drama might die down, these friendly and helpful FoH members joined in on the fun. (Word to the wise: Muzzle your bitches, FoHror.)

And, remember this when they introduced the Test Server?

Moving forward, all players who have an active World of Warcraft account will be eligible to participate in testing on the test realms. However, this initial testing phase requires characters between the levels of 55 and 60 in order to properly test the content and functionality for the next patch. Email invitations have been sent out to a random set of players who meet these qualifications. (emphasis mine.) Their level 55 to 60 characters have been copied to the test realm and will be waiting for them when they log in for the first time.

Guess that was just bullshit, too.

Day in the life, man. Just another day in the life.

UPDATE: Tigole chastised. Although why this would not have been obvious to him before remains a mystery.

Arrr Mateys, There Be a Patch on the Horizon

So there’s this Warcraft patch coming up … some week. The mother of all patches. Could take years to download with the shitterrent system Blizzard uses.

(Another one of those things that you shouldn’t have to write down for people but apparently you do … Collecting fixes, changes and additional content for MONTHS = huge ass patch. It also = huge ass headaches after it goes live, but that’s a lesson for another day.)

In anticipation of the nuisance that this patch is sure to create, my guild of e-thugs has come up with a plan. BitterEx-EQMonk has agreed to sit through the patch download as soon as it’s available and upload it to the e-thug website for the rest of us to grab later. In case the official patch system is constipated (like usual always), he has ReloggingGuy’s FilePlanet info as an alternate download source.

We also have a Plan C and Plan D. Ya, we the players are the ones with the alternate plans. (Hail, Irony!)

If only we could mirror the Ironforge zone, we’d be in business.

(For those without their own Plan B, Abalieno at The Cesspit usually has the patches available for registered users and there’s always FilePlanet … nonmembers have to wait in line, paying members are FCFS.)
