What Are Friends For?

(Somewhat inaccurate transcript of a recent TeamSpeak convo):

Foton: Hey man, that formula you’ve been looking for is on the AH. (and yes, we actually pronounce it AH instead of Auction House, which makes absolutely NO SENSE, but hey.)

EnchanterBud: buyout on it? how much?

F: 60 big ones on the buyout.

EB: What the fuck!

F: Gotta want it.

EB: I ain’t paying that shit. What’s the bid at and time left?

F: 20 gold, very long on time.

EB: fuck.

F: Dude. Gotta want it.

Self-appointed leader-bud (SALB): Dude, just pay it. I’m tired of camping that shit.

EB: That seller’s on crack. I refuse to encourage that shit.

F: What are we saving our gold for? Retirement? Putting the kids through college? Let’s just pay the 60 and be done with it.

SALB: I’ll pitch in 10g myself.

Others: ya, me too. (and “aye” from the bud with a roleplaying bent. wtf is with that?)

**Brief convo discussing the merits of supporting crack addicts and/or being free of farming obligations in exchange for a ridiculous amount of gold.**

F: Consider the deed done. It’s in the mail.

SALB: Hey, you realize that along with this little gift comes an implied obligation, right?

EB: ya, ya. I better have those enchantments ready for you guys within a few days.

F: Days?!?! What the fuck, have that shit ready by the end of this day. I got some Ironforge noobs to impress.

EB: Jesus. Not much of a gift, more like a job.

F: You new around here? That’s what friends are for.

EB: I gotta get a better class of friends.

F: Man, just enjoy the moment. While you’re griffing to camp those components.

  1. Sounds about right. My husband did that for the robes I needed for a warlock quest after camping the ultra rare spawns for the recipe drop. It was only 2g, but that was a lot when we were still under level 35.
