The 3-Volume Patch Notes

The epic-sized patch notes for today’s Lord of the Rings Online content, fixes, NERFS and features are available in Volume I, Volume II and Volume III. Known issues are outlined here. I didn’t read all the notes, didn’t seem to be much of a plot. And there is NO character development whatsoever.

Continuing this week’s theme of letting the better bloggers do all the work, Zen of Design’s Damion Schubert wrote a succinct commentary on voice chat systems in MMOGs: Voice Chat Ready To Come Of Age?, debunking four myths and identifying four problems with gaming voice chat. A built-in WoW voice chat would be a welcome improvement to our guild’s real life expenses — we pay some ungodly amount for a 50-man Vent server. If I ever spent some time thinking about all the overhead of a raiding guild, I’d probably take everyone out to the parking lot and /gkick them.
