  1. Seriously. 6 grand is a tad much. But, I guess I’m in the minority, because I think 6k is a lot. Hopefully Blizzard cuts it in half when Wrath comes out. Though at that point I’ll be knee deep in Age of Conan (assuming it doesn’t crash and burn on release).

  3. like jiffy said, 6k gold is waaay too much for people that only PVP. I just try to keep a constant 1k gold or so while paying for repairs and mats.

  5. Forgot to add: It is much easier to get 6K gold now, than it was to get 1K gold for the epic land mount back in the days. Heck, it will be even easier once 2.4 will land.

  6. I’m glad you think that q but those of us that only have time to play a few hours a week think otherwise. 1k is hard for us to get.

  7. Since when is it 6k? It’s 5k for the skill, 200 for the actual mount. Still, your point remains.

    The way they’ve made other stuff easier, like removing all the attunements, I’m surprised they haven’t cut the price of epic flight substantially.

  8. Think 800 for basic flight + 5k for artisan + 200 for mount. I always think of it as 6k total when I’m leveling up too.

  9. What I want to know is, what does someone who only has “a few hours to play a week” need with an epic flying mount?

  10. And don’t forget that in WOtLK, you will have another 8-10 leve.s where you DON’T need your flying mount, thus more time to make money for it.

  12. Personally I think life’s too short to constantly grind (which I hate doing anyway) for the mount, no matter how fast and shiny the dragons are /envy. I always end up spending my money on something I need far more anyway 🙂

    I might argue that players who are only on a few hours a week are the ones who benefit the most from fast flying mounts. Why waste half your playing time in flight? 😉

  14. the problem is that ppl who raid a lot end up farming to afford consumables and respecs with very little left over for a mount fund. it’s kind of like wow is split into fighting classes and merchant/farmer classes. the former being poor folks on slow mounts in really nice gear, and the latter being rich folks on fast mounts and the nicest gear money can buy.

    the ppl who have the best of both worlds spend a hell of a lot of time living inside the video game. =P

  15. Hmm. What would people think to a “casual” epic flying mount that lasted X (60?) minutes, during which time you could mount/dismount as much as you wanted, but was on a 24h cooldown?

    Make it available at a lower cost (heck, quest reward even – preferably not requiring a dungeon) and possibly make it ugly (certainly not using existing epic mount skins, that will cause the same QQ as using the same models for PVP and dungeon armour) – would people complain or be glad?
