  5. One of the guildmates dinged 300 jewelcrafting at 8 or 9 in the morning. OH WHY DID I THINK GRADUATING COLLEGE AND GETTING A JOB WAS A GOOD IDEA?!?!?!

  6. F***ing Best Buy isn’t even shipping until today. They suck. I guess they silently cancelled other people’s pre-order. Apparently not mine, at least judging from their order status page.

    Count yourself lucky.

  8. Ahh, the joys of being in Australia.

    4:00pm – (if not earlier) The US peeps get the game and are already playing, I’m stuck at work watching the updates of the England vs NZ cricket match, fixing some AV issues, getting ready to work on GPO issues and reading my server forums about the crashes and wishing I was there.
    5:15pm – Leave work, finally.
    6:15pm – Get home.
    6:16pm – Log on, curse the Americans in my guild.
    10:00pm – Watch the Singaporeans in my guild log in and go to Hellfire. Curse them too.
    11:00pm – Head to EB.
    12:45am – Finally get my copy.
    1:00am – Get home, start installing.
    1:20am – Discover Blizzard screwed up the patches and the 2.0.3 -> 2.0.4 patch is lost, start downloading 2.0.3 -> 2.0.5 using blizzard downloader because I can’t find it anywhere else.
    2:00am – Finally log in. Go to Honour Hold, find inn, go to bed.
    6:00am – Wake up.
    7:00am – Go to work.

    … I won’t be able to play until 6:30ish tonight, 26 hours after its release. 🙁

  10. Wandered into circuit city about an hour ago picked up the box and am almost done patching. I gave up pre-ordering right after EQ launched I think, it seems justt as fast and far less aggravating to go to a store and grab the box on launch day.

  11. I strolled into to town this morning,looked at the lil idiots standing outside the various game stores in the cold drizzling rain laughed, walked in to Target and grabbed one of the 30 or so boxes they had sitting on the store shelf, came home and installed.

    So far all I can say is man the Expansion inflation for items just really hurts, already seeing items that are better than T2 (albeit no set bonuses). The lag is baaaaaaaaaaaad everybody and their mother (and brother, and sister, and father etc) is out there but so far no crash. Final observation..their’s about a billion new Shamans in the Dranei area.

  12. I lucked out. Had a plane to catch but the DHL man arrived at 10;15 so I got to see for sure that the game got delivered before I left. If it hadn’t I dont want to think about what would have gone down in my household. LOL

  13. I casually strolled into Best Buy at lunch time and picked up one of about 50 boxes on the shelf and even used a $10 off coupon. Easy.

  14. Ok i’ll be happier when there’s a level difference again…too many damn people running around. I don’t care if i’m behind them or in front of them just as long as there aren’t as many of them.

    Oh and what is it about rolling a new toon that makes everyone forget how to play? Perfect example, a quest in the Dranei lands that involves killing X amount of mobs, instead of 5 people teaming and getting the X amount of mobs they need at once, they instead kill alone and multiply the amount of mobs needed ot be killed by 5, and increasing the length of time it takes for everyone (including themselves) to finish the damn quest. It’s not like these are new players, yet they forget one of the basic rules of WoW questing common sense because they are level 1 ugh.

    And I repeat again, there’s about 5 million new shamans and paladins.

    Not getting it til next week, would have been fine, but someone told me it would be in the shops yesterday, que uncontainable excitement.

    Then “they’re not getting it until tomorrow” Sigh. Well this is Cyprus >_

  17. It snowed today, and where I live two inches of snow = no school. Whoopee!
    Unfortunately, where I live is a town away from any store that sells anything like TBC, and my parents are reluctant about driving anywhere in the snow because their car sucks.

    I know I should have my own car and license by now, but I don’t. I scraped together the $40 needed and begged my parents to take me to get the damn thing. After a lot of arguing, the father figure finally agrees to take me. It wasn’t so easy, though. Lectures all the way there, lectures all the way back. “It’s dangerous to drive in the snow without 4-wheel drive,” he says. “If we’re pulled over and they find out I don’t have any insurance we’re screwed,” he says.

    Once we’re finally to the only store in the town we drove to that carries the game, there aren’t any boxes on the shelves and I ask the guy at the register if they have any left. Now this guy has absolutely no idea what I’m talking about. World of Whatcraft? Uhhh… yeah, I think we got a few of those a few days ago. None on the shelves? Why don’t you look again to make sure, I’ll check if we have any in the back.
    So we glance over the same wall of computer games again(hey, I say to myself, they have GW: Nightfall Collector’s Edition, now if only I wasn’t so poor), and come back to the register to find a guy with a head on his shoulders. The other guy was still in the back not knowing exactly what he was looking for. I ask this new guy if they have any. He knows exactly what I’m talking about, and tells me they sold out. Well, they didn’t just sell out, they sold out about ten hours ago.

    Lady Luck is having fun kicking me in the teeth and I’m having fun watching people enjoy the new content without me. My thoughts on said content:

    Draenei: Finally something on ally better looking than night elves. If you ask me, male night elves are just grody. The shaman is one of my favorite classes and I’ll definitely be jumping aboard the shammy bandwagon.
    Blood Elves: Finally all the n00blets who love night elves will have a reason to make Horde characters, meaning ally may actually have a chance at WSG and AB now.

    Sure, there are tons of Horde pallies and Ally shammies now, but at least they’re not hunters. My server has an obscene hunter infestation, about 25% of all characters on the server are hunters.

  18. Oh god, your post looks just like my browser screen for most of yesterday. Out for delivery as of 6:24 am, delivered around 6 or so. I was going insane!

  19. Downloaded the tBC torrent files over the weekend.
    Got a text message from a friend working in Gamestop with the cd-key.
    Upgraded the account 1 hour before the countdown.
    Killed Sapphiron half an hour before the release.
    Walked into the portal at the same time servers came back up after the restart.

    It looks like you may have used an open tag character in your “frustrated face” emote. I wouldn’t be suprised if it was mistaken for a special character, which would result in the rest of your post being cut off. I don’t think they’re big on censorship around here.
