A Visit to SOE

Because I’m so skilled at finding strange and unusual internet stuff, I ran into this Flickr photo set recently of Cory Doctorow’s (Boing Boing) visit to Sony Online Entertainment in March 2005. At first, I was wondering if anyone can walk into SOE and start handling these original sketches for Star Wars Galaxies and Ultima Online (wtf!), then I did a little profile digging and all became clear. Interesting: The original EverQuest servers, now retired, and the buttass ugly furniture in the SOE reception area.

    Lucky!!! Did ya boost anything?

    I’d “borrow” a pencil, put it in an acrylic display case and take the Unholy Pencil of EverQuest Evil on tour for all to see. “Look closely, it still radiates malice! … Ok, that’s enough, move along, there’s a long line behind you.”
