Guild Wars: Factions

NCSoft announced the upcoming release of the first expansion for Guild Wars, ETA second quarter of 2006, Guild Wars: Factions. Players can try it out, free, January 20 through January 22 — access keys for those without GW accounts are available at their site. Two new professions are in the expansion: Assassin (I’m guessing that means rogue) and Ritualist (I have no idea what that is, maybe shaman?).

  1. The Ritualist’s Primary Attribute is related to spirit-summoning. They are said to be like Necromancers (have minions — in this case, spirits), Rangers (can summon spirits), and Monks (have access to healing spells). I guess they are sort of like Shamans. Apparently the Ritualist was created partially to take the pressure off of Monks, though from the few details available they do seem to have quite a few unique abilities. Already I can think of a few complementary Professions.
