Life With Alacrity: Dunbar & World of Warcraft — interesting stats and commentary on optimal guild sizes in UO and WoW. Actually, optimal size, in my opinion, is much smaller, but WoW (and its predecessors) lacks an efficient or effective system for formal guild alliances.
